Dad Arrives

Dad made it here ok. Thank goodness everything went like clock work! Each flight was on time and all his luggage made it. Here is Dad on our back patio when he first arrived with Annabel. he is tired but relieved to be here.

Kieran's work always has one of these Happy Days at work where they get some blow up jumping castles and have lots of activities for the kids as well as a BBQ... so here are Annabel and Connor hamming it up at Happy Day 2007 (Connor is a Pirate and Annabel a cat)

Annabel got a Baby Alive and it is so funny! It is basicly a robot and she poops and wees and says a whole bunch of thigs... she burps and needs new nappies quite often... very funny and the kids adore her... but the cat is not so sure!

Happy Father's Day to all the Daddy's out there!! We celebrated ours with a Father's Day BBQ on Saturday night. Coffee in bed sunday morning and breaky out. Here is Annabel's Daddy portrait!

Kieran and I ventured from home last night to an outdoor concert for a Canadian band called the Bare Naked Ladies. It was a fantastic location sitting on a hillside underneath a ski lift... drinking a pina colada and listening to great music! Too fun!

More Backyard Fun!

Today Kieran requested a quiet house to get some work done and take a nap... so the kids and I headed out to Toledo Zoo. It's about an hour from us but a fun outing. Connor loves to ride on the train there and we spent a good twenty minutes watching the baby Polar Bear wrestle with his Mumma. Very cute! Nice and warm and sunny today, so fun was had by all.

Hi again.

It's a bit of a sorry house here at the oment with both of the men in the house sick with the Coxasckie virus. Very nasty with fevers and sore throats. Kieran and Connor are both having lots of naps and chocolate... so are sure to be better soon. Recently went out to dinner at our local Mexican joint with the Mums in the street.. so here is a photo of that and I also thought I would post on one here of Katie and Dallas coming home from the hospital with their new baby boy James Finley McMillan... a total cutie!

Annabel Graduates Pre-School

Wow! What a momentous day! Annabel's last day of pre-school today! She was a bit indifferent and is very excited about all her summer activities to come, but I was surprisingly emotional. It's not as if I am even saying good-bye as Connor will be going there in the Fall. But I guess it is the end of an era... and I think that when you move as much as we have, the little routines become a source of stability and when one ends... I guess you feel it. But, my little girl has changed alot this past year in preschool. She can now spell and write her name. She knows her ABCs and can count in English and Spanish. So, she is ready for big girl school even if I am not! Here is a photo of her saying good-bye to her teacher Ms Sandi after the pizza party...

Dexter to Ann Arbor 10 Km run

Hi all! Well, I did it! My first 10K. Let me tell you it was a long way! My girlfriend, Andrea ran it with me and we kept each other going (OK, she kept me going!). It was not without an adventureous pee in the woods mid run though! We finished it in one hour which is right on pace for me as I run a solid ten minute mile. So we did a couple of 9 minute ones and then it is a long solid hill up to town from the river for km 8-10. This was a killer for me! You have already run a long way and then you have to run up hill to the finish?? Oh well. Had to run as this is where the crowd started and I would under no circumstances walk across the finishing line! Kieran was waiting just before the finish with the kids and it is so great to see how excited they get to see Mummy coming ! Connor loves watching me run and his little face breaks out in the biggest smile when he spots me and he starts yelling "Go Mummy Go!" So cute! Annabel loves it too, she always wants to enter the kids race they have at these things.. so that is fun for her.
Well, that's it... time for a big sleep as it is raining and both kids are asleep too... will sleep well tonight!

The beginning of Summer 2007

Here we go! We are so excited that the warm weather is finally here! Memorial weekend we headed up north about 4 hours to Petoskey on the Lake Michigan coast. Very pretty! Here is Annabel down at Bay Harbour Marina. We also went to one of those gorgeous little farms that has all organic produce and lets you go on hay rides. Connor loved the tractor.
